Happy New Year! I hope you had a joyful holiday!

It’s a new year which means we get a fresh start to yet another radiant year of life. How exciting is that?!

Every year, like many others, I write down my New Year Resolutions in my diary. During the year I challenge myself to stay focused on my goals and remind myself of them by reading my diary. Shockingly, research shows that on average, only about 8% of people are successful with sticking to their New Years Resolutions. The simple trick that has helped me in recent years is to create realistic goals for myself. For example, if you are looking to slim down in 2017, instead of saying you will go to the gym every day of the week set a more realistic goal by saying you will workout at least 2 days out of the week. With setting the goal of 2 days versus 5 days in the gym, you have a higher chance of achieving and even over achieving your initial 2-day goal.

Using this simple trick has truly helped me stick to my New Year Resolutions these past few years, and I hope it will help you too!

• Drink more water!(I always tend to drink less water during winter)
  
• Spend more quality time with family & friends.
  
• Exercise more! Hike more! Adventure more! Explore more!
  
• Make more time for meditation and self-reflection.
